Assessment for each subject consists of:
Students must attain an aggregated mark of 50 per cent for their total assessment requirements in order to pass each subject.
The assignment is a compulsory piece of assessment. In order to pass the subject, you must submit a written answer to the assignment, which, in the opinion of the Director, Education and Training, demonstrates a genuine attempt to pass the assignment.
For students enrolling in single subjects, assessment is optional. However, if you later wish to complete the Graduate Diploma, assessment is mandatory.

The dates for submission of assignments for 2010 are:

Examination dates
The examination dates for 2010 are:

First semester: week commencing Monday, 14 June 2010

Second semester: week commencing Monday, 15 November 2010
Examinations are held primarily in the evenings.
Examination venues
Exam venues are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
On request, CSA will make arrangements for students outside these capital cities to sit exams at a local university or TAFE. These candidates will be required to pay that institution’s exam supervision fee direct.
Prizes
Prizes for academic excellence are awarded each semester in most subjects at both a national and state level. Please contact your local CSA office for further details.
The Ian Falconer Rio Tinto Prize
This national award for academic excellence in the sum of $500 is conferred on the student who has graduated with the highest grade average.
It is conferred twice a year, that is, once for each graduating group. CSA appreciates the ongoing support of Rio Tinto as the sponsor of the ‘Ian Falconer Rio Tinto Prize’.
